Olga Papikian, born in 1977, began her piano studies in 1986 at Gnessin Special Music School in Moscow, as a pupil of N.Nasarova.
In 1991 Olga took part in the concerts at the Europe Association of Piano Teachers Congress in Gratz, Austria.
In 1992 she won a place at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory Music College studying under Professor Tigran Alikhanov and graduated with honours in 1996. Olga has given many recitals in Moscow and other Russian cities, including such famous concert halls as the Great, Small and Rachmaninovsky Halls of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Since 1992 she has performed regularly in the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic Society.
In 1995 Olga toured in San-Paulo and other cities of Brazil as a solo pianist and as a member of a chamber ensemble.
In 1996 she won a place at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory where she studied under Professor Nikolai Petrov, graduated with honours in 2001 and since 2002 she has been studying there as a Postgraduate student under Professor Igor Kotlyarevsky.
In 1997 she won the Second Prize at the Newport International Piano Competition for young pianists.
In 2001 Olga has taken part in the Music Festival "Russian winter", held at the Great Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and in other cities of Russia, where she performed Concertos for two pianos and orchestra by Mendelssohn, and in the Festival "Musical Kremlin" (recital).
She has toured in Switzerland several times and participated in master courses held by Professor of the Musik Hochschule Zurich Hans Schicker.
In 2001 she has won Diplomas at the International J.Brahms Competition (Portschach, Austria) in two categories: piano solo and chamber music. She regularly gives concerts both in Russia and abroad. |
