Eroica Classical Recordings proudly presents one of the most famous chamber music ensembles in the world, performing the Oratoriums of Vivaldi and Haydn to ultimate perfection.
In 1794, Haydn completed his work on the complete Oratoria. The text was written by a very skilled musical canon from Passau, and the great lyricist Baron fan Swieten improved it. The effect of this work is beyond all expectation.
The "Seven Words" are deep, impasioned, and full of grief.
This version of the Oratorio is sung by the internationally renowned Hungarian baritone, Tibor Weil, with the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra of Budapest, Hungary. |
