Listening to Bill Wood's songs makes the brow furrow and the mind wander. His aren't so much songs as commentary on the 20th century. Themes wander from politics, "Well Oiled Machine" to personal tragedy, "Strange Road", to religion, "Playing for Jesus" to 18th century explorers, "John Wesley Powell" and beyond.
