So who is Bethurum? The mystery producer behind the musical genius is just as unique as the sounds which he shares with the world. Growing up with the incentive that every minute of "piano practice time" equalled "Nintendo playing time," Benjamin took to the piano at a young and impressionable age. He began dabbling in electronic music in high school and by college. Training under masters like Scott Cossu and Kelly Allen, his years of training in classical and jazz piano are evident in the elaborate soundscapes that roll out of Bethurum's stealth bomber sound facility.
Seattle's cultural fusion of technology and it's natural surroundings is cohesive to Bethurum's musical style: electronic sounds welded together by layers of organically solid sonic structures and composition. While he has been composing for over two decades, his evolution into electronic music began about 10 years ago. As his secret "hardware-only" studio has grown into an elusive laboratory, the handcrafted sounds which define his music can only be described as Bethurum. Bethurum's compositions have been tagged as soundtracks for suicidal superheros and awakes of perfumes which intoxicate to senses. Bethurum's sound is not your typical electronic music. It is built from the silence up, resulting in rich technical orchestrations.
