Argentine tangos for dancers.
The second album from the Argentine tango band Conjunto Berretin, "Tangamente" is a montage of classic Argentine tangos played in the "a la parilla" style -- improvised -- and always with the tango dancers in mind. This album also contains an original blues, chacarera (Argentine folk), several "cortinas" (meant to clear the dance floors as traditionally done in the dance halls of Buenos Aires), and an original tango vals composed by Allen Regnier and Carrie Bodensteiner.
The musicians come from various backgrounds: jazz, blues, classical -- with one thing in common: a love for Argentine tango and with the intention of always playing for the dancers.
