| This is Dermaptera’s fourth CD, recorded in 2005. Done in a myriad of styles, Moog analog and smooth digital electronic sounds can be found on this album, along with delicate acoustic pieces. Although the dense layers of sound may lead the listener to think there was a lot of overdubbing in the recordings, most of the songs on the album were recorded during live sessions. This album has also been described as sonic flowers in an alien sunrise.
Lammas is the last album in our four CD celebration of the seasons of the year. We are finally back to the lighter side of the year with Lammas (also called Lughnasadh), as August 1st is the time this holiday is traditionally celebrated. The songs reflect the end of summer and beginning of the fall – harvest time, long days of sun, and time for reflection and preparation for the darker days of winter.
