Easy listening classical piano solos intended as background to a romantic evening.
About his new CD Gary admits that it's properly named "Background Music". He says: "You won't hear these pieces as played by a concert pianist. I played them as if I were asked to play "in the background." I recorded "Clair de Lune" on my 1871 Steinway, the others on my "modern" 1917 Knabe. I once thought that "background music" was a bit like using fine art as decor. But I became convinced of its merit when, while visiting the Canadian Rockies our dinner at the Chateau Lake Louise was enhanced by a pianist who gave us light classics and beautiful ballads from the standards. Having made 2 CDs with standards I thought I'd try the classics on this one. I hope you enjoy the music, but feel free to keep it in the background. |
