Women's Northern style contemporary pow wow drum - exciting energy, soothing beat, sweet style in Cherokee and English. All original material by group members marks this debut album "Daughters of the Earth" by Feather River Singers as breaking into new territory in Native music. Inspired by The Mankillers, Walela and Ulali, these women bring melody and a Cherokee touch to their pow wow songs. Recorded outdoors, the sounds of birds and nature were incorporated into the songs. LE Honeycutt, artist and singer with Feather River Singers, painted the original artwork used on the CD cover and insert, the Great Smokey Mountains, homeland of the Cherokee. The Seven Clans are symbolized in the seven birds on the cover.
