Good music markets itself. That's how R-mean has sold thousands of copies of his debut album "Broken Water" independently without the help of any labels, promotors, or investors. "I've built a buzz solely off the strength of my music", he says. He is being played by L.A.'s top DJs at L.A.'s top radio station POWER 106.
"I don't have the type of fans that tell me I'm good. I have the type of fans that tell me I'm the best they have ever heard. That's how I know I got something special. Cuz they say it, not me."
R-mean is from Armenian origin - something new to the hip hop game of today. Right before he was about to sign a record deal he lost his voice out of the blue and did not recover till about 2 years later as if there was a message hidden in his story of struggle. Together with his blind producer and a unique reggea vocalist he makes hip hop music unheard of in the game of today.
R-mean's music is so pure and from the heart that it touches people. "Whatever type of song I write, I just try to have people relate to what I say. That's why I touch people. That's why everybody feels my shit: young, old, white, black, girls, guys - it don't matter".
