Up Beat Guitars - Easy Listening Pop-World Sounds.
Buddy Merrill's utilization of his multiple guitars is unique in the recording world .At times he will use a single lead against a block of four,five or six guitars playing as a section. Sometime he will use a myriad of other comnbinations involving bass guitars, steel guitars, flat-top guitars and two speed effects.

Buddy composed all of the songs on this album except "Street Song" and "Up For Grabs ",co-written with Scott Seely, and "Holiday Express",co-written with Neil Le Vang. The songs cover a wide variety of styles from straight forward swing ,"On The Upbeat" and "Up For Grabs", to world sounds in "Moonstone" and "Odyssey". Latin flavored sounds are found in "Riviera" and "Passage To Brasilia ". |
